My Story
Hi, I’m Niki and I’m the creative mind behind Yummy Cake, based in South East Cornwall.
I started baking cakes at a young age, lending a hand to Gran in her kitchen as we crafted and baked birthday cakes for myself and my siblings. Some requests required a bit more explanation—like, 'a Rubik’s cube? What's that?'—but every cake was crafted with love. I firmly believe that when you're passionate about something, it reflects in your work.

Raised in the South West, I pursued studies in art and fashion design before embarking on a career in the fashion industry that led me away from Cornwall.
My background in fashion and design has honed my keen eye for detail and fueled my passion for creativity and precision.

Having a family drew me back to Cornwall and eventually gave me the opportunity to turn my love for cake-making into my dream job.
Why do I love my job? I love making people happy, I love baking and I love being creative. Wedding cakes and bespoke celebration cake designs allow me to feed all of those passions.

I enjoy the collaborative process involved in creating wedding cakes. Taking each client through the design journey, using my knowledge & experience to demonstrate the possibilities of sugar & cake.
And truly, that moment when you witness a face light up upon seeing your work – the infectious feeling that follows stays with me, making me smile for the rest of the day!
When I’m not making, creating & dreaming of cake, I escape to the sea. I am lucky to share this passion with my husband and we love to sail the Cornish coast & beyond. The freedom of sailing is such an amazing feeling, a real mix of calm and exhilaration.
